What initially drew you to your specific form of creative expression?: We both grew up around music, we breathe it.

Love it. So which podcasts or mastermind groups do you currently follow, and which ones would you recommend for other creatives to explore?: Astonishing Legends, Other World, Decoder Ring, Blowback, The Boo Crew, WTF? with Marc Maron

Will do! What advice would you give to aspiring creatives who are just starting out in your field?: Organize and streamline your process. Meet other like-minded people and join creative communities. Be persistent, have fun, and be yourself. Learn to take criticism.

What are your goals for this year? : To release our current passion project and to work on more great films, TV shows, and commercials.

What's unique about what you provide and why do you want others to work with you?: We offer something specific and niche. We apply our deep understanding of many different styles and genres to each project. We can provide anything from a fun and catchy pop song to a surreal soundscape. We are also very responsive and easy going.

TRUE. What tips can you offer someone who's similar to you?: Get your advisors in line. Don't forget where you come from. Talk to many different types of creatives. Get your libraries in order, focus on your sounds, and practice!

What is an important lesson you've learned in your creative career?: To be self-aware but not self-conscious

How do you handle creative blocks and what do you do to overcome them?: Long hikes/walks, Review old material, watch live videos on YouTube

How do you stay current and relevant in your field?: Listen to new music always, be open to new trends and ideas, focus harder on the purity of your work rather than its relevance

What sets you apart from other creatives in your field?: Decades of live/studio experience, We are a multi-instrumentalist duo which means twice the ideas. We are also prompt with turnaround.

Do you have any techniques or rituals you use to help spark creativity?: We are called, Nite Smoke..

How do you stay motivated and productive when facing a creative challenge?: If we get stuck on something for too long, we move on and then come back to it. Also cold brew.

How do you feel about AI in the creative world? Likes, Dislikes?: It's not something we use currently but it's fascinating. We certainly don't want to rely on it, we feel human expression is best.

What are the most important skills or qualities that you think a creative entrepreneur should have?: Good communication, good organization, self-accountability, drive, passion, imagination, and a good sense of humor.

Can you share any tips or advice for managing the balance between creativity and business as a creative entrepreneur?: Hold two different meetings a week, one for creativity and one for business. Try to keep the two separated as much as possible.

What are some of the most effective marketing and promotion strategies that you have used to grow your business?: We have a social media presence but our focus is our portfolio and our website. We network a lot, we have never advertised. We look for shows/projects and make cold-calls.

How do you prioritize and manage your time as a creative entrepreneur, and what tools or techniques have you found to be most helpful?: Set your hours and work at odd times if need be. Occasional late nights are a must. Google docs for organization, zoom meetings, being able to work remotely.

Can you discuss some of the most important lessons you have learned in your journey as a creative entrepreneur?: Be prepared, don't be afraid to talk budget, don't be afraid to defend yourself. Know your worth + keep on jammin'.
