Client Spotlight: Courtney of Ascendencia
We had the oprotunity to interveiw small business owner Courtney of Acendencia Spanish Heritage Ciriculmum and wanted to see what she thought on the follwoning:
Hi Courtney, tell us what you do!
I’m a Spanish teacher who creates resources. The Spanish curriculum online engages & empowers heritage Spanish-speaking students.
Wonderful! Love that. What's something sweet a client has done for you? :
Positive reviews on my resources make my day!
We just started getting reviews in too and love them! What’s your favorite book or podcast for business?: I am a huge fan of Pat Flynn (Smart Passive Income Podcast) and Jenna Kutcher (Goal Digger)
Love Jenna! So what is the number one way to get sales in your business?:
Search engine on Teachers Pay Teachers and organic traffic from my blog
Nice! How often do you learn something new?:
Daily! I absolutely love learning!
Same! Tell us some skills do you think you should learn?:
I’m currently learning Adobe Creative Suite
Awesome, I hope you’ve googled the yearly Abobe hack….! So what advice would you give to a smart, driven college student about to enter the “real world”? What advice should they ignore?:
My advice is that it's okay to pivot if you outgrow something. You only get one life so don't waste it playing it safe. Don't go crazy and quit your job with no plan, but do take calculated risks.
Got an advice for other business owners looking to grow their business? :
Outsource your weaknesses
When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, or have lost your focus temporarily, what do you do?
I slow down and tidy. I find that cleaning my space and making sure my personal life is in order helps me be more creative the next day.
In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?:
Slow progress is still progress.
Preach! What did you like about working with The Colorado Branding Agency? :
I love Rebecca's creative process. First the inspiration, then the mood board, then narrowing it down to which we like best. I felt involved in the process but also felt at ease that I could trust her creative style.
Oh shucks! Last question! What’s the city where you are located and can you suggest on where to visit when we go there?
Minneapolis, Minnesota- Put your name in for a table at Young Joni and while you wait grab pint of Peanut Butter Porter at Dangerous Man Brewery. Make sure you order the Pepperoni, Jalapeño, & Honey pizza at Young Joni.
Thank you Courtney!
